Thank you for making all the knowledge you provide so readily accessible. I "thought" I understood afro-pessimissim until I watched your latest tiktok. Now I have a more fuller understanding of it than I ever did and the gears in my head have been turning ever since.
I just want to say that I have learned so much from your writing and videos and I am so grateful for all that you do. I was deeply moved by your sentiment about reading saving your life. I just finished law school, and for obvious reasons the way people talk about the law made me feel like I was losing my mind. Reading(esp many of the books on this list) saved me. Afropessimism single handedly changed my entire understanding of law. Saidya Hartman's Scenes of Subjection completely changed how I understand Contracts and Property law. But I can honestly say your content saved me. I've learned so much from you, and I've used your videos as a launchpad to interrogate some of these concepts in my own time. Your content saved me from decades of believing that we can "impact litigate" our way into a better world. It's made me want to be more mindful about the content I consume, mindful about supporting the creative individuals who bring such value into my life. Im a public defender now, I have no grand visions about the law being the means through which freedom is delivered and there is something freeing in that-- I don't see "world building" as primarily linked to my job and this allows me to focus my energy on building stronger communities outside of work and not root so much of my identity on a line of work that I ultimately wish to rid the world of . I know you deal with all sorts of bull shit online. But I just want you to know that I am not only inspired by your ideas but by the generosity with which you share this knowledge and resources. It seems to come from such a well of abundance and I am deeply appreciative. Sending you lots of love, solidarity, and care.
the read a book video is one of my favorites of all time and I still reference it so it made me smile to see it referenced by someone i respect so much

Thank you so much for the list❤️. Out of curiosity what are your thoughts on Fanon? I rarely see his work mentioned anymore
Thank you!!

You are a gem. Thank you for all that you do. “Reading saved my life.” I mimic these sentiments.
